Arles. ca. 1850-1859.

The photoprints, which date from the 1850's, commence with views of Arles, France: the Roman ruins, the Alyscamps, Saint-Honorat-des-Alyscamps, Saint-Trophime and its cloister; followed by views of neighboring Montmajour: Notre-Dame Chevet, Sainte-Croix and Saint-Pierre. The size and contents of the photoprints suggest they were assembled as a souvenir album of the region.
